![I posted my first Substack.
I love IG for its quick posts and write ups but sometimes there isn’t enough space for the words. So here is a quick first snippet.. or more like clickbait, you decide 😉- of something that’s been on my heart and you can read the rest by tapping the link in the bio:
As someone who has spent a considerable amount of time studying first-century life, culture, history, language, and the New Testament — visiting Pompeii was a dream come true. Walking streets frozen in a time you have immersed yourself in is both surreal and humbling. I didn’t expect it, but being there, listening to our tour guide explain the society and showing us the conditions in which these real people lived, it was like I was hearing it all for the first time. I found myself continually turning to my husband to say…

![At the foot of the cross,
I see myself in the mockers, and in the grieving disciples.
I see my mother’s heart in Mary.
I see my humanity in Peter.
He saw them all. He saw all who were yet to come.
And for us, for us He remained.
At the foot of the cross I see my redemption, my saviour,
my everything.
His cry to His Father was not His last words, just as they were not the last in Psalm 22.
Tetelestai.
It is finished.
[John 19:30]
..future generations will be told about the Lord
and proclaim his deliverance to a people yet unborn,
saying that He has done it.
[Psalm 22:30-31]
Around 1000 years between them,
but the truth remains the same,
It is Finished. He has done it.](https://scontent-iad3-2.cdninstagram.com/v/t51.75761-15/491519122_17870472357347334_7901719736055772060_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_e35_tt6&_nc_cat=103&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=18de74&efg=eyJlZmdfdGFnIjoiRkVFRC5iZXN0X2ltYWdlX3VybGdlbi5DMyJ9&_nc_ohc=wlMGdQMDfTwQ7kNvwEfkyA4&_nc_oc=Adk7J_zd_vURqyUlbrCAqK3dd42aeHMbd-g7gHdmslJ-rk5dmFVc4ehTTgxB0zFAABs&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-2.cdninstagram.com&edm=ANo9K5cEAAAA&_nc_gid=v2iCBQMoK_GTjzqd64-xxw&oh=00_Afin4Cj6f-hELLriieWzMQ9G4x0kM8lEsbBwmzksrNwhxA&oe=690EE496)

![“Sojourner” is the frequent translation of the Hebrew term gēr (Hebrew gēr [גר]; plural gērīm [גרים]). This Hebrew term and its translation convey the basic idea that a person (or group) is residing, either temporarily or permanently, in a community and place that is not primarily their own and is dependent on the “good-will” of that community for their continued existence.
- Oxford Bibliographies
To Sojourn is to be somewhere temporarily, a pilgrim of sorts. As the Israelites before the promise land, we are in a place of waiting, sojourning through life in anticipation of the complete restoration of Gods creation, our true home.
Let us sojourn together 🤍](https://scontent-iad3-1.cdninstagram.com/v/t51.29350-15/472777023_1327089794950682_4961542877264018917_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_e35_tt6&_nc_cat=110&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=18de74&efg=eyJlZmdfdGFnIjoiRkVFRC5iZXN0X2ltYWdlX3VybGdlbi5DMyJ9&_nc_ohc=4SBsPRoOiiEQ7kNvwHjITDe&_nc_oc=AdlJkt14lEAJmrJ_wTx592GqiWmYShgzn76P723Qnlrh892JMIyiXYIcF_5RC4gy5h4&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-1.cdninstagram.com&edm=ANo9K5cEAAAA&_nc_gid=v2iCBQMoK_GTjzqd64-xxw&oh=00_AfhwaIBgdg-n0-BtIb3xm5dLBl2NLDANI7jGe3Yeb6y1lQ&oe=690EE984)
